Frequently Asked Questions.
Does the oil have a fragrant smell?
Although the oil is odourless and smokeless making it ideal for asthma and allergy sufferers you may choose to add a drop of your favourite aromatherapy oil for something different.
How does it work?
Ahhh…now that would be telling. Coloured flame effects has managed to create these the different coloured flame by carefully adding different particles to each oil to create the colour in the flame. As the oil heats and the wick draws it up the particles within the oil make it burn different colours
Is it poisonous?
Although the oil is non toxic and will not kill you we DEFINATLEY do not recommend drinking it because it will make you very sick. Keep oil product out of reach of small children and if accidently swallowed we recommend seeking medical advice.
Will the oil burn without a wick?
No, the wick is needed in order to create the flame effect. Similarly if the oil is accidently spilt and the wick is extinguished the oil will not continue to burn without the wick being relit.
My candle is burning a sooty black flame.
Make sure you have trimmed the wick since it was last used and that the wick has had time to soak up enough oil to burn properly.
How do I use colored flame burners?
Assure the lid is on tight, then turn the bottle upside down for a few seconds. Unscrew the cap and light the wick, insure that the wick is damp before lighting. It may take approximately 2 to 5 minutes for the true colour to come through.
When finished blow the wick out and recap to keep the wick damp. When using burner again trim black section of wick before lighting
How do I refill coloured flame burners ?
Blow out the candle and wait several minutes for the wick to cool down. Remove the wick and tube (take care not to pollute the wick, or it will not burn the flame color). Unscrew the cap of the refill bottle and using a funel pour into the oil burner with care. Wipe any oil that may be around the outside of the burner.
Ensure that you trim any black ash section on the wick before lighting. Replace wick and tube carefully back inot burner and relight. If you want to replace the wick, iat 3-5 minutes after the new wick is totally wet with the oil, then relight.
